TJ McCue
I’m the founder of Sales Rescue Team, a pay-it-forward lab. My day job is at Q4 Sales and includes thinking about a lot of the same kinds of issues small biz owners face:
- How do I get more customers to visit my site, my project, my brand, my work?
- How do I get those customers to trust me and buy from me?
Q4 Sales creates strategic content to help you find new business. It is mostly the simple, yet elegant, things we do that make the biggest impact. A few examples: We create screencasts for small biz owners to get you on YouTube fast (without expensive video budgets). We write and blog for ourselves and customers and find others who may blog about you. We research who is talking about you online so we can leverage that info and drive new traffic. Enough company talk.
Here’s a little bit on why I started this pay-it-forward lab and effort:
Here There Be Dragons
Years ago, I looked at an old map of ocean voyages. In one corner it said: “Here there be dragons” and had a rough drawn image of a scary beast.
That started a fascination with maps, but more so, with exploring, with being adventurous, with taking risks. I mean what sane person would embark on any journey where the map said something about real dragons.
Certainly, you must be one of those risk takers on a journey because you started your own company. The reason I started the Sales Rescue Team is because I am on that journey, too. Any success I’ve found is due in large part to an amazing network of experts who share their advice and insights with me. I wanted to share that with others.
Two books have deeply influenced my journey with dragons. Here are my Amazon links: Po Bronson’s New York Times bestseller: What Should I Do with My Life? is an inspiring collection of true stories about people who have started their own ventures. Small business or nonprofits. Bronson takes you on his journey as he explores what it means to find your purpose and passion. The second book is by David Whyte entitled Crossing the Unknown Sea: Work as a Pilgrimmage of Identity. The title sounds a bit academic, but the book is rich with stories of Whyte’s journey of why work matters so intensely for us. A worthy read.
Vitamins or Painkillers?
In our hyper-connected world, rich with information, there’s sometimes a shortage of how-to-do-it; or, more accurately, how-do-I-do-it? We need help with a specific pain or problem and idle, random, generalized advice doesn’t help much. We want answers to our questions. The question I hear most is, “How do I get more customers to my company website?” Many sites offer vitamins to help us get our businesses healthy, but what we really need are painkillers.
Sales Rescue Team is the painkiller. We are a growing team of consultants and experts who care about small business. We have a team that knows what it’s like to get something off the shore and into deep rich waters. You may choose to read some of the other reviews here and glean what nuggets of wisdom you can. Or, you may want to dive in and ask for us to review your site and your business. Each expert here values the pay-it-forward philosophy. We hope that if we’re able to help you, then you’ll return the favor and help someone else here at the Sales Rescue Team site or in your local area. Just in case you’re wondering why we do this. We share our advice first to give back to the small business community, but we are savvy enough to know that it boosts our reputations and credibility, too.
We hope to help your website and your company to be more successful with the ideas and insights shared here.
